* Thinking Things Through
Posted on September 19th, 2008 by MJA.
Recent developments in Europe have have grave import for Americans. The European Union seeks to control certain forms of speech while posing as defenders of freedom. Increased prohibitions against “negative” comments concerning homosexuality or Islam are but two hot button issues for Christians. When such prohibitions go beyond policy to law, Christians will find themselves on the wrong side of the law each time they refer to the bible on the matter of marriage and sexuality.
This is no time to be silent. Unless we speak out against such unjust developments we may find ourselves persecuted for simply teaching our faith.
The tightening noose on the necks of Christians, particularly orthodox Catholics, is not new. Here is a link my article, “The Dark Side of the European Union” (2003).
